About the Royal Oak...

The Royal Oak was originally built as a coaching inn and that tradition of superb hospitality certainly continues today with fantastic food and drink, stylish bedrooms and a warm welcome.

The Royal Oak, extensively renovated in 2007, is now regarded as one of the best places to eat and drink in the city centre. We have a lovely mix of dining areas; some with log fires where you can tuck yourself away for a quiet lunch and others overlooking pretty Kirkgate.

We are very proud of our menu and have worked hard to create a variety of dishes using fresh local ingredients and our specials boards change daily according to what is in season.

Being situated in the city centre we are close to the shops, cathedral and museums in Ripon. With so many attractions in the area The Royal Oak is an ideal base for either a short break or longer holiday.

So, whether you are calling in to lunch or dinner or staying overnight we are confident that you will be delighted with The Royal Oak.
